Born and raised in Texas, Morgan Calhoun is a 25 year Katy resident, proud Latina, and 2005 graduate of Katy High School. Soon after graduating, Morgan met her husband Taylor, also a Katy High School alumnus.
While Morgan was pursuing her degree, Taylor enlisted in the United States Air Force where he completed 3 tours of duty; 1 in Iraq and 2 in Afghanistan. He was called to his last tour shortly after the birth of their first child. When their son was born they had made the decision that Morgan would leave her career and focus on being a full-time Mom. She took care of their newborn and held down the fort at home while her husband was fulfilling his service to this great nation.
The Calhouns have been active members of The Waters Church community since 2011 where Morgan has held roles in leadership, volunteer service, and community work. There she served as an anti-sex trafficking advocate working closely with local outreaches in the Houston and Katy areas. Morgan also organized and served with Nonprofit Organizations in and around the community, such as Katy Christian Ministries, Feed the Hunger Katy and others. She also values her time recharging with her exercise community in Old Katy.
Serving and giving of her time and resources is Morgan’s passion. Determination and resiliency are her methodologies. As a Board Member she will honor, serve and protect the children of Katy ISD and, together with them, she hopes to build a legacy that will be passed down to future generations.
